Getting to Chacala

Its a scenic two hour drive from Puerto Vallarta to Chacalla. The best options are car service, rental car, or bus.

We can pre-arrange a car service for a set price to pick you up at the airport (one way car service est 1400-1600pesos). If you take a taxi you can negotiate the price up front.

The best car rental options are either Gecko or Sixt. Their prices are what they quote and include the nescessary extra Mexican liability insurance. Be mindful of the autopista toll option; it is quicker but there are 2 tolls requiring about 500 pesos in cash total.

To get there by bus, the best option is to take the first available bus from the new modern Central de Autobuses Station about a mile north of the airport pedestrian exit. The station is new and nice as are many of the busses. There is no bus service directly to Chacalla from PV. You can purchase a ticket to the nearest town of Las Varas. At the bus stop in Las Varas there is a taxi stand where you can hire a taxi (~150 pesos) to take you the 8 miles to Chacala. Another option is to get in a 'Collectivo' (group taxi) taxi for about 30 pesos per person.

Casa Colorida Location

Located at Calle del Socorro 19 (Red Pin), in Chacala, Casa Colorida is easy to find, just one block up from the marina beach. The Casa has a dedicated parking spot in front of the garage for guests to use.

THe house sits one block from the Marina beach and the entrance to the Malecon boardwalk. It is also just a few blocks from the town center plaza which faces the beach and a series of beach restaurants.
